NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to start from April 19 with 102 constituencies to go to polls in the first phase of voting. The Election Commission (EC) said that 96.88 crore people are registered to vote for the forthcoming General Elections, marking it the largest electorate.

It also said over two crore youth electors in the age group of 18 to 29 years have been added in the voters' list.

Having a voter id is an important step towards taking part in the electoral process. Here's a step by step guide to ensure that you have an updated voter id:

Visit National Voter Services Portal
Begin by accessing the official National Voter Services Portal (NVSP). The NVSP is a comprehensive portal that offers a variety of voter registration services and information.

Submit and track your application process
After submitting the revised form, you can check the status of the application on the website using the reference number supplied.

Check voter id details

Using the Epic number: Go to the homepage and click 'Search in the Electoral Roll'. Choose the 'Search by EPIC No.' option. Enter your EPIC number (found on your voter identification card) and choose your state from the drop-down option. Click 'Search' to view your voter information.

Using personal details: If you don't have the Epic number handy, choose 'Search by Details'. Enter your information, including name, age, date of birth, gender, state, and district. Click 'Search' to view your voter information.

Verify Updated Information

If your information appears in the search results, click on your name to see the most recent information on your Voter ID.

Contact the Electoral Office

If you cannot find your information or if it is out of date, please contact your nearest Electoral Registration Office (ERO) or visit the official website of your state's Chief Electoral Officer for assistance.
