The work she does: After graduating, she joined Radio Bundelkhand 90.4FM four years ago. As a reporter for the community radio station, she began interviewing environmental experts to get to the root cause of the scanty monsoons and poor crop yield in the region that was pushing several farmers to migrate.
“My conversations with experts helped me understand reasons for extreme weather conditions and the overall climate crisis that was taking a heavy toll on farmlands,” says Varsha, who now hosts her own radio show titled ‘Shubh Kal’ or ‘better future’ that informs the local radio audience of how climate change is impacting their lives and features diverse voices of those taking action to reduce carbon pollution or increase resilience to climate impacts.
