Last year in September, Arshid Mir, a sub-inspector with the Jammu and Kashmir police, was killed while escorting a detainee to Srinagar’s Ghousia Hospital for a routine medical check-up.
The 25-year-old police officer had walked to the hospital with the detainee and two personal security officers (PSOs) as the hospital was not very far from his police station.
