JAMMU: A self-styled divisional commander of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit surrendered in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, official sources said.
Militant, identified as Farooq Ahmed of Basi village of Bhaderwah town of the district, was active since 1992 and had undergone arms training in Pakistan, the sources said.
Ahmed handed over some arms and ammunition to the authorities at the time of surrender, they said, adding he will be sent to joint interrogation centre for further investigation.
