Hizb militant killed in Srinagar
A Hizbul Mujahideen militant was on Monday killed in a fight with security forces in Pulwama district.
SRINAGAR: A Hizbul Mujahideen militant was on Monday killed in a fight with security forces in Pulwama district.
Acting on a tip off, security forces cordoned Sofi Hamam village, 40 kms from here, on Monday morning and during the search operations they came under fire from militants, officials said.
In the retaliatory firing, one militant identified as Mohammad Shafi was killed, they said.
The operation was still continuing as security forces have information about presence of another militant in the village, they added.
