NEW DELHI: Google has unveiled a new Doodle to commemorate the start of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which began in India on Friday. The first phase of the elections is underway, with millions of Indians participating in the democratic process to determine whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi will secure a consecutive third term in office. If successful, PM Modi will become the second Indian leader, after Jawaharlal Nehru, to hold power for three consecutive terms.

1x1 polls
This Doodle will be displayed across India as the nation embarks on Phase 1 of the Lok Sabha Polls, encompassing 102 Parliamentary Constituencies in 21 states and Union Territories.
Over the course of the next 44 days, a staggering 969 million registered voters will exercise their democratic right to shape the future of the world's largest democracy for the coming five years.
A Google Doodle is a temporary modification of the Google logo on the search engine's homepage, typically appearing on specific holidays, festivals, or to honor the contributions of individuals on their birth or death anniversaries.
