Goa Konkani Akademi award for Dr K Mohan Pai

MANGALURU: The Goa Konkani Akademi has selected Dr K Mohan Pai, president, Karnataka Konkani Linguistic Minorities Educational Institutions Association of Mangaluru for its prestigious Madhav Manjunath Shanbhag award. The award has been given in recognition of his significant contribution, especially teaching in schools.
The award consisting of Rs 50,000 cash and a plaque will be presented at a function to be held in Panaji on January 22.The award has been set up in honour of late Madhav Manjunath Shanbhag of Karwar who organised the first ever All India Konkani meet in 1939.
