Girl suffers 35% burns as power pole falls

In the second such incident reported in Bengaluru in four days, a 20-year-old student of Christ University suffered 35% burns after an electricity pole came crashing down and the 11kV live wire that it was supporting fell on her when she was walking on Suddaguntepalya Main Road, off Hosur Road, on Tuesday afternoon. The pole fell after optical fibre cables (OFCs) tied to it got stuck to a water tanker and the truck driver moved ahead.
