From cinema to sports: TOI Shevolution celebrates women breaking barriers
Actors Ashutosh Rana, Shweta Tripathi, and Preeti Jhangiani recently participated in TOI Shevolution, an event celebrating women's empowerment, ambition, and success across various fields. It was held in Greater Noida on March 20 and was organized in association with GL Bajaj Educational Institutions.
Ashutosh Rana, who was part of a fireside chat, discussed the role of women in society, saying they represent stability. He said, “Women are the symbol of stability, and I personally also believe that if you have a confident woman then she will be like the harbour in any storm in your life.”
The actor was all praises for the feminine form and highlighted that men and women complement each other. He enthralled the audience with his views on women empowerment and said that while men possess vision, women are gifted with the power of intuition, which is what makes them special.
During a panel discussion, Shweta Tripathi and Preeti Jhangiani shared insights on how women are challenging stereotypes to realize their ambitions. Preeti, who is now the President of People's Arm Wrestling Federation India (PAFI), reflected on her journey from acting to the world of sports. She said, “If you look at my personal journey, my family is not from the film industry background, getting into modeling and film was completely unconventional choice for me. And then, from acting now into sports that also in the male dominated sports of arm wrestling….”
Shweta emphasized the importance of pursuing one’s passion despite the hurdles. "If you are following passion, and what you really want to do and what makes you happy it just makes things easier... Keep exploring...It's very important to go out and make your own experiences," she said.
Both actors shared personal anecdotes from their own lives to highlight how women are fearlessly blazing their own trails and redefining success.
Anshu Agarwal, Managing Trustee of GL Bajaj Educational Institutions Greater Noida and Mathura, along with Kartikay Agarwal, CEO of GL Bajaj Educational Institutions, also contributed to the discussion by highlighting the institution’s efforts in fostering women’s empowerment through education, leadership opportunities, and entrepreneurship support.
Shevolution was a celebration of the resilience, ambition, and strength of women who continue to break barriers and carve their own paths.
