Delhi girl Abhilasha Sinha, a 26-year-old singer-songwriter, studying at New York University, did not expect that posting a few pictures on Instagram, with body hair, during the Covid lockdown, would trigger the audience in any way. But what followed left her stumped. “The deeply vile, visceral reaction that simple visible body hair on a woman evoked was staggering. People actually were angry about (my) underarm hair,” she says, recalling the reactions to her Instagram post.
