AMRITSAR: Emotions ran high at the Observation Home in Faridkot on Children''s Day. Dinesh Lal from Pakistan was on his way home.
Dinesh was all smiles but his happiness was tinged with sadness as there were many others who would not be accompanying him. Their identities could not be verified by the Pakistani government.
Tears streamed down the faces of the unlucky ones as they bid farewell to Dinesh on Friday.

An overwhelming desire to meet his relatives in Gujarat had forced Dinesh Lal, a resident of Umar Kot in the Sindh province of Pakistan, to cross the Wagah border illegally.
But he was arrested by the Border Security Force and a case was registered at the Gharinda police station.
Those at the Obsevation Home awaiting release include Amzad Khan from Shekhupura; Nasar Ali from Jhang; Babar Ali; Asif Khan and Altaf Shah f rom Multan Sagar Ali and Sabar Ali Kasur.
