The accused were taken to police station by the Investigating officer.
Police officials said that their remand had been taken mainly for the recovery of at least two revolvers – one which was used by Makkar in the crime and the other that was first taken out by Sunny Sachdeva. Gikki was murdered by Makkar and his three friends on late Wednesday night. There was big turnout of Sekhon’s supporters when police applied for their remand. Meanwhile, text messages are being circulated for participation in a candle-light vigil on Sunday to seek justice for the victim.
People also used the SMSs to vent out their anger against Makkars. “Let us unite and raise our voice against misuse of power, biased police department and social security of a common man. We have lost Gurkirat Sekhon but we want justice for him and his family. A peace candle-light rally will be carried out at Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Hall on Sunday,” read one SMS.
