If sustainability is something that drives your choices, even in food, here’s a shocker: Being vegetarian may not be enough to save the planet

A study – on the impact on biodiversity of different dishes from across the globe – has found that while vegetarian and vegan dishes have a significantly lesser impact on biodiversity than meat-based dishes, some vegetarian dishes led to decreased biodiversity.

Dishes like idli, rajma and even chutney!

The study, published in the open access journal PLOS One, was carried out by a team from the National University of Singapore, under Dr Luis Roman Carrasco, associate professor at the department of biological sciences.
