THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first results of the Kerala Assembly elections have gone in favour of the LDF.
In Ottappalam, CPI-M's Hamsa defeated former minister V Kabeer (INC) by 24,343 votes. CPI-M's K V Abdul Khader trounced IUML's C H Rasheed by 12,509 votes in Guruvayoor.
In Mattanchery in Kochi, Industries Minister and IUML leader V K Ibrahim Kunju defeated M C Josephine by 15,632 votes.

Convener and CPI-M central committee member Paloli Muhammadkutty wrested the Ponnani seat defeating DIC-K leader M P Gangadharan by a huge margin of 28347 votes.
Revenue Minister and KC-M leader K M Mani retained the Pala seat by defeating NCP's Mnai C Kappan by 7759 votes.
