Field day for shutterbugs as Jolie boards Mumbai local

MUMBAI: The unit of 'A Mighty Heart' on Monday began filming scenes from the life of slain Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl played by Dan Futterman and his wife Marianne played by Angelina Jolie.
It was a complete makeover for both Futtermann, who has a resemblance to Pearl, the journalist abducted and killed by Al Qaida in Pakistan, and Angelina who was dressed in a lime green top and a pink sarong for the scenes.
"Both looked very real to the characters they are playing in the film," said a photographer. The week-long shooting schedule began at Gateway of India promenade outside the Taj Mahal Hotel with a few shots of Jolie and Futterman walking along the promenade.
The crew then shifted to Imperial Hair Salon where Pearl usually had his hair cut. It was a field day for Indian shutterbugs, who got unfettered access to Jolie. Although the actors didn't interact with the media, they allowed them to take pictures while shooting.

After the hair salon scene, the duo boarded a second-class western railway train, travelling from Charni Road to Churchgate. But not many on the station or the train recognised Jolie. "Had it been a Hindi film actor, there would've been a stampede," said a commuter.
Jolie's securitymen tailed her everywhere, but had to keep a distance while the couple travelled on the train. The actors even stood in queue to buy their second-class tickets.
A scene was also canned in Palki restaurant in Colaba, and another in a taxi. The shooting of 'A Mighty Heart' will continue on Tuesday. The media relations person from the unit refused to give details of the location.
"All I can say is they are shooting in Mumbai but can't give you specific locations." As for meeting the press, she said, "We will inform you when we plan."
