NEW DELHI: For the bereaved families, identifying the bodies is proving to be as traumatic as coping with the death of their loved ones. In the Safdarjung Hospital, three families have laid claim to the bodies of two children a three-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl. In contrast, two bodies lay unclaimed in AIIMS although more than 100 people came for identification.
The Saxena family is claiming that the body of the three-year-old boy is that of their son Utkarsh.
But Dilbag Singh thinks its Nikhil, a member of his family.
"On Saturday night, we had confirmed that the body was that of Utkarsh. But when we came here on Sunday morning, the face had become coal black. Hence the confusion, said Anil Saxena, a relative.
"After identification, we had even put a tag around the body", said Utkarshs father Anupam Rai Gupta, who also lost his wife on Tragic Saturday.
But Dilbag Singh, who works in the Air Force, is equally confident that its Nikhils body. "I am sure of it. There should be a DNA test and the childs identity will be proved."
