Exit Polls 2023: Counting of votes for Mizoram assembly polls deferred by a day to December 4
The exit poll results for the assembly elections of the five states- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram are being declared on Thursday. An exit poll is a survey that is conducted immediately after people have voted for their respective candidates.
The results of the five assembly elections will be declared on Sunday, December 3. Congress looks to retain power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, while BJP is eyeing another term in Madhya Pradesh. In Telangana, both Congress and BJP have will be hoping to unseat the current Bharat Rashtra Samithi government led by K Chandrashekar Rao.
Meanwhile, the ruling Mizo National Front in Mizoram is working diligently to ward off challenges from both Congress and Zoram People’s Movement. The voting in Telangana on November 30 concludes the final assembly elections of 2023. The results of these elections on December 3 will have a bearing on the crucial Lok Sabha elections which are expected to be held in April-May next year. Whichever party gains the most from these polls will be heading into the national election with a positive momentum. Since it's going to be Congress vs BJP in at least 3 out of these 5 states, the results will be all the more crucial for the two national parties. Stay with TOI for live updates:

BJP will win over 150 seats, says Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra reacted to the state exit poll results released on Thursday evening saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win over 150 seats in the state assembly polls. "I had said in the beginning that we would win around 150 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done work where the poor people have benefitted be it Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Ujjwala Yojana or Ayushman Bharat scheme. Similarly, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, as soon as he came into power, introduced many schemes beneficial to the poor. We are confident that we will win more than 150 seats," the home minister said while speaking to ANI in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district on Friday.
