Ex-minister provided 'Y' category security

GORAKHPUR: Former state minister for homoeopathy education Rajesh Tripathi, who was elected from the Chillupar assembly seat, was provided "Y" category security by the state government. It was done as he had been receiving life threats. It may be recalledthat a few days back, criminal Gopal Goswami was shot in police encounter inLucknow but his two associates managed to escape from the spot who were laterarrested by the police in Sant Kabirnagar district. During police interrogation,it was known that they wanted to kill former state minister Rajesh Tripathi inLucknow. Hence, it was decided by the authorities concerned to strengthen hissecurity from Saturday night onwards.
