End ‘toxic’ TV debates: Cong to broadcast body

NEW DELHI: Days after the death of

Congress spokesperson Rajiv Tyagi

shortly after he appeared in a television debate, a delegation of

Congress leaders

met the News Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBSA) and petitioned it to issue an

advisory

to media houses to enforce a code of conduct to curb “sensationalist, slanderous and toxic” TV debates.

The delegation, comprising senior advocate and RS MP

Abhishek Singhvi

, and party spokespersons Pranav Jha and Jaiveer also emphasised the need for strict adherence to NBSA guidelines.
