Election Commission officials halt feast at HD Kumaraswamy's farmhouse
Election officials on Wednesday stopped 'Hosa Todaku' - a non-vegetarian feast traditionally observed a day after Ugadi - at the farmhouse of former Karnataka CM and Mandya candidate HD Kumaraswamy in Bidadi, citing a violation of the election code as it could influence voters. Finding that a pandal, chairs and dining tables were being set up at the farmhouse, a team of officials accompanied by the poll flying squad team intervened. JD(S) sources said the feast was organised for some prominent leaders and labourers and wasn't a public feast.
