BHOPAL: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out extensive searches invoking the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) against a Madhya Pradesh based company.

The targeted locations included eight premises spread across Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, and Rewa in the state of Madhya Pradesh, all linked to the ongoing investigation into M/s Jagdamba AMW Automotives Pvt Ltd. & others.

The focal point of the operation was the apprehension of Pushpendra Singh, the director of M/s Jagdamba AMW Automotives Pvt. Ltd, said an official release.

ED's actions culminated in the arrest of Singh during the search operation conducted in Jabalpur. Notably, a substantial amount of cash, totaling Rs 16 lakhs, along with documents pertaining to immovable properties, were seized from Pushpendra Singh's residential premises.

Following the arrest, the accused individual was presented before the Special Court (PMLA) in Jabalpur on January 14. Subsequently, the court remanded Singh to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate.

The investigation continues as authorities delve into the intricacies of the case involving M/s Jagdamba AMW Automotives Pvt. Ltd. and its associates.
