Dubai deports Dawood's brother, aide
MUMBAI: In a major blow to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, Dubai authorities on Wednesday night deported to India his younger brother Iqbal Sheikh Kaskar and a close aide Ejaz Pathan, wanted in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blast.
This is the first time that Dubai authorities have deported a close relative of Dawood and also an accused in the Mumbai serial blast.
Both were put on a flight to Mumbai from Dubai on Wednesday night where they will be arrested, official sources said.
"We have been taking up these cases with the Abu Dhabi authorities as well as the ruling family of Dubai and these diplomatic efforts have resulted in the deportation," a foreign office spokesman said in New Delhi.
