CHENNAI: Her hopes slowly fading after eight days since the Coast Guard Dornier aircraft went missing over the Bay of Bengal, the wife of Subash Suresh, one of the pilots on board, sent a tweet on Monday to the Prime Minister’s Office seeking Modi’s direct intervention.
Deepa Lakshmi’s direct tweet to PM office said, “ @PMOIndia 8 days since my husband Subash Suresh, pilot of CG791 is missing.
Request your attention #FindSubash”.
The family is very anxious since there has been no positive news in the past eight days. “Though the search operation is going on seriously we are worried now. We request Prime Minister’s attention,” Deepa told TOI.

The family has created a campaign on Facebook as well. “We have created these pages since our friends suggested. An alumnus of the National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, Subash joined the Coast Guard in 2008 after his brief stint at an IT firm. “He has enough experience in flying. He has more than 1,700 hours of flying experience. He is a gold medalist,” Deepa said.
Stating that Subash was proud of serving in uniform, Subash’s mother Padma recalled her son’s words that he wanted to enrol his one-year-old son in an Army school and see him become a pilot. “We are very confident that our son will return home and until an official confirmation comes through, we won’t let go of that belief,” Padma added.
