DMK's no-trust move won't help 3 MLAs: TTV
MADURAI: DMK’s move for a no-confidence motion against the assembly speaker for issuing show cause notices to three MLAs who were AMMK sympathizers will not help the MLAs legally, said AMMK general secretary T T V Dhinakaran. He said that it could in fact speed up their disqualification process and help the AIADMK.

The move to disqualify the MLAs, who were still AIADMK members and only sympathizers of AMMK, was out of fear by the chief minister, who will resign on his own after the election results are declared, he said. Dhinakaran added that he had delayed the registration of his party only to protect these three MLAs.
Asked about deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam’s visit to Varanasi, he alleged that it was a known fact that OPS was BJP’s agent. Explaining the difference between AIADMK and AMMK flags, he said that Panneerselvam, chief minister Palaniswami and law minister C Ve Shanmugam could add a ‘kavi’ (orange) line to the red and black borders of their dhothies and even add a lotus motif to it. They had converted the party formed by MGR into the Tamil Nadu branch of BJP, he added. “They have only money power, but the cadres and people are not behind them. AIADMK bribed the people with Rs 6,000 in R K Nagar and Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 in the Lok Sabha. It has become a laughing matter that the party men are demanding that the bribe be given back because people had not voted for OPS’s son in Theni and the video was circulating,” he said.
Later, campaigning for E Mahendran in the Thiruparankundram constituency at Viraganoor, Dhinakaran said Palaniswami and his company had realized that they did not have a chance to win in the Lok Sabha polls or byelections and hence were resorting to crooked ways to protect their government.

bypoll candidate E Mahendran, TTV said his comment was in the context of the chief minister’s claims of a nexus between the DMK and AMMK. If at all Stalin wanted to help these three MLAs, Rathinasabapathy of Aranthangi, Kalaiselvan of Virudhachalam and Prabu ofKallakurichi
, he should have filed the petition without much fuss, because it was not going to help them now, he said. "In fact DMK’s filing of petition now will only speed up their disqualification and it will help the AIADMK. It is already known that AIADMK and DMK had a 60-40 deal in the co-operative elections and now tenders are being shared with DMK MLAs," he said.Asked about deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam’s visit to Varanasi, he alleged that it was a known fact that OPS was BJP’s agent.
