DMK slaps privilege notice on education minister

Protesting against Pradhan calling its members “uncivilised” during a clash over a scheme, DMK filed a privilege notice against him in Lok Sabha. The notice alleged the minister misled the House and tarnished the image of TN. As per the notice, while replying to a question by DMK MP T Sumathy over non-disbursal of funds for TN under Samagra Shiksha Scheme, Pradhan made “highly malicious, misleading & defamatory remarks”.

In the notice, Kanimozhi said Pradhan claimed TN initially agreed to sign a MoU with Centre for PM-SHRI but later changed its stand. She said he made the same “misleading and incorrect” claim about the DMK MPs, which was designed to tarnish the image of Tamil Nadu.
