Dismembered body identified, father-in-law held for murder

The dismembered body recovered from near Jamal village on last Friday has turned out to be that of 25-year-old Vinod Kumar, a resident of Padampur village of Sriganganagar in Rajasthan.

SIRSA: The dismembered body recovered from near Jamal village on last Friday has turned out to be that of 25-year-old Vinod Kumar, a resident of Padampur village of Sriganganagar in Rajasthan. This was established after tests at Rohtak PGI showed that the DNA samples taken by police matched with those of his kin.
Meanwhile, acting on a complaint lodged by Vinod`s parents, the district police arrested Om Parkash, victim`s father-in-law, for his alleged involvement in the crime.

“Om Parkash has confessed and he would be produced in court on Wednesday for being sent to police remand. We are also trying to ascertain the role of other members of Parkash`s family,” said Makhan Singh, the station house officer (SHO) of Jamalpur police station.
The investigating officer said Parkash has also admitted that Vinod was axed to death and his body dismembered.
Sources informed that Vinod had estranged relations with his wife Rekha who belongs to Baruwala village of Sriganganagar district. Last Friday, he had gone there to get his wife back.
