Nagaland government has recommended CBI probe into the Dimapur lynching case in which a mob had dragged an alleged rapist out of jail and thrashed him to death.

NEW DELHI: Nagaland government has recommended CBI probe into the March 5 lynching case in which a mob had dragged an alleged rapist out of jail and thrashed him to death.
Chief minister TR Zeliang on Thursday said that the government had decided to entrust the case to CBI.
The 35-year-old alleged rapist was dragged out of a high security jail in Nagaland's Dimapur town.

The slain, Syed Farid Khan, was suspected to be an illegal Bangladeshi migrant.
He was paraded naked before he was beaten to death.

Khan, a second-hand car dealer, had allegedly raped a 20-year-old Naga woman on February 23.
He was arrested two days later and sent to judicial custody.
