NEW DELHI: Veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh will file his nomination for the Congress president election on Friday.

The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister, seen as being close to the Gandhi family, who arrived in Delhi on Wednesday after participating in Bharat Jodo Yatra in Kerala, collected nomination papers on Thursday.

Friday is also the last day for filing of nomination for the election.

Asked if he was acting at the behest of the party leadership, he said, "I am responsible for myself," adding that one needs to wait till the withdrawal of nominations to know if he will be there in the fray.

More than 10 Congress legislators from Madhya Pradesh will reach Delhi to be the proposers for veteran leader Digvijaya Singh when he files his nomination.
