'Delhi's AQI improving': GRAP-3 measures revoked; stage 1 and 2 to remain in force
NEW DELHI: The Commission for Air Quality Management’s (CAQM) sub-committee on Wednesday revoked stage 3 measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), citing a "steady improvement" in Delhi’s air quality over the past three days.

However, the panel clarified that restrictions under stages 1 and 2 will be intensified and continue to remain in force until further orders.
"The AQI of Delhi has been improving since last 3 days and has been recorded 327 today. Further, the forecast by IMD/IITM predicts the AQI to remain in 'very poor' category in the coming days," the sub-committee said in its order.
"The sub-committee, accordingly, decided to revoke its orders dated November 11, for invoking actions under stage 3 ('severe' air quality) schedule of GRAP (modified on November 21), with immediate effect. Actions under stage-1 and 2, shall, however, remain invoked," it added.
The panel further stated that it will keep a “close watch” on the air quality situation and issue further directions, if and when required.
The national capital has been battling “very poor” air for nearly two weeks. At 7 am on Wednesday, AQI levels hovered between 348 and 377 across key locations — 358 at India Gate, 363 in the Ghazipur area, 348 near AIIMS and 377 in Bawana.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), an AQI of 301–400 falls in the “very poor” category, while anything above 400 is classified as “severe.”
