Delhi weather sees sudden turn: Rain, dust storms bring temperatures down in capital

The city recorded its minimum temperature at 25.9 degrees Celsius on Wednesday night, approximately six degrees above normal, marking the highest this season. The city's minimum temperature surpassed Wednesday's 25.6 degrees. This makes it the highest minimum temperature for April in three years, as per official records.
The minimum temperature in April remained below 25 degrees Celsius during both 2024 and 2023. April 2024's peak minimum was 24 degrees, whilst 2023 saw 23.6 degrees.
April 2022 recorded its highest minimum temperature at 26.2 degrees Celsius. The IMD projects the maximum temperature to reach approximately 39 degrees Celsius.
A "very warm night" is noted when the minimum temperature exceeds normal by more than 6.4 degrees Celsius.
The capital's air quality remained 'poor', with the AQI reading 243 at 9 am, according to CPCB data. The AQI scale categorises readings as follows: 0-50 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor', and 401-500 'severe'.
