Several Borders blocked towards Delhi

Farmers primarily from Haryana, Punjab and UP are embarking on a march towards Delhi resulting in traffic jams and blockade in several parts of the national capital.

Farmers break barricades, Haryana Police lobs teargas shells

The Haryana Police lobbed multiple rounds of teargas shells, including through drones, at the Shambhu border near Ambala to disperse farmers. Some of the farmers also tried to remove the cement barricades with the help of tractors. Despite an appeal by the Haryana Police to stay away from the barricades, many protesters continued to stay put and stood over the barricades, officials said.

Section 144 imposed in Delhi for a month

There will be a complete ban on gathering, processions or rallies and entry of tractor trolleys carrying people in the national capital as the Delhi Police imposed Section 144 for a month in the view of intended widespread tension and "social unrest" due to the farmers' 'Delhi Chalo March' on Tuesday.

Some gates at metro stations closed as per security instructions

Amid Delhi Chalo march, some gates at metro stations are closed due to security reasons, however, the stations are operational. "Some gates of Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Udyog Bhawan, Janpath and Barakhamba Road have been closed as per security instructions. However, the stations are still operational," said a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official.

200 farmers' unions at the national capital border

More than 200 farmers' unions are scheduled to march to the national capital on February 13 to press the Centre for accepting their demands, including enactment of a law to guarantee a minimum support price (MSP) for crops.

Farmers break Haryana barricades, pelt stones

According to Haryana Police the protesters pelted stones at them which resulted in tear gas retaliation and use of force to stop the farmers from creating disturbance.

Chaos at Shambhu border as farmers attempt to breach barricades

The Punjab-Haryana Shambhu border witnessed chaotic scenes as the protesting farmers marching towards Delhi attempted to break police barricades. Farmers were seen attempting to remove the cement barricade with their tractors as they tried to cross the Shambhu border. The police fired tear gas to disperse the protestors at Punjab-Haryana Shambhu Border as they tried to breach the mutli-layered barricades.

'We can work on ways to find solutions': Union minister Arjun Munda

Reaffirming the government's commitment to protecting the welfare of farmers, Union minister Arjun Munda said that the government is open to many issues, and they can work on ways to find solutions. The Union minister also urged the farmers to stay careful of elements that try to vitate the atmosphere.

Tractor ban across borders of National Capital

As the farmers from Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana are expected to enter Delhi during their march, Delhi Police has imposed a ban on tractor rallies trying to cross the borders of the national capital.

Two temporary jails created, alternative routes for ambulances opened

State principal secretary Vijayendra Kumar said, "Strong arrangements have been made this time keeping in mind the events of last time. We are in touch with the DCs and SPs of bordering areas of Rajasthan and Punjab and well-coordinated... Two temporary jails have been created... Alternative routes for ambulances have been opened. 11 additional companies have been deployed,"

'If farmers don't get MSP, it is injustice' : Congress' Kamal Nath

Kamal Nath said that, "70 percent of the economy of Madhya Pradesh is based on agriculture and farmers generate economic activities in the state. The grocery stores run in the villages when the farmers have money in their pockets. But if farmers don't get MSP - this is an injustice that has been done to them continuously. Their minimum demand is that of MSP. It is very essential."

Multi-layered barricading at borders to stop farmers

Determined to stop farmers' march from entering the national capital, authorities in Delhi fortified the border points and banned large gatherings to avoid a breach of the law and order situation. Besides massive deployment of police and paramilitary personnel equipped with anti-riot gears, multiple layers of barricades, concrete blocks, iron nails and walls of containers have been put up at three border points - Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur.
