Cricket for a cause: Parliamentarians unite in a friendly match for TB Mukt Bharat campaign

A friendly cricket match between Parliamentarians was held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on Sunday, featuring Rajya Sabha Chairman XI and Lok Sabha Speaker XI. The event, 'TB Mukt Bharat Awareness Cricket Match,' was aimed at raising awareness about tuberculosis.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur captained the Lok Sabha Speaker XI, while Union Minister Kiren Rijiju led the Rajya Sabha Chairman XI.

As part of the TB Mukt Bharat campaign, the 20-over match brought together Members of Parliament from various political parties.

The match reinforced the Indian government’s commitment to a TB-free India by 2025. This follows Prime Minister Modi’s announcement during the "End TB Summit" and subsequent global initiatives aiming to reduce TB-related deaths and cases nationwide.(PTI)

AAP MP Raghav Chadha also participated in the initiative and said, "While elections may end, political animosity often lingers. However, initiatives like this foster teamwork, dilute hostility, and allow us to unite as a team of Bharat Mata to move the country forward."
