CoWin filters to take PM pics off vaccine certs in poll-bound states

NEW DELHI: Health ministry has applied filters on the CoWin platform to exclude Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo from the vaccine certificate to be issued in the five poll-bound states, official sources said.

This came in the wake of the model code of conduct that came into effect on Saturday in the five states including in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab following the Election Commission’s announcement. The name as well as the photo of PM Modi were removed from vaccination certificates on Saturday night itself, sources said.

. The elections will be held between February 10 and March 7 in seven phases while the counting of votes will take place on March10.
