Covid-19: India reports 23,529 new cases in last 24 hours

NEW DELHI: India on Thursday reported over 23,529 new

Covid

cases in the last 24 hours. Its an increase of nearly 25% from yesterday. With this the overall coronavirus tally has jumped to 33,739,980, according to the data updated by

ministry of health

and family welfare at 9 am.




With 311 new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll stands at 4,48,062.


With a decline in active cases by 5,500 , the active caseload stands at 2,77,020, which is lowest in 195 days. Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.82%.



At 97.85%, recovery rate is highest since March 2020. With 28,718 more people recovered in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries have jumped to 3,30,14,898.

The weekly positivity rate is 1.74%, which is less than 3% for last 97 days. The daily positivity rate is 1.56%, which is less than 3% for last 31 days.

So far, 56.89 crore samples have been tested to detect Covid-19.

Under the nationwide

vaccination

drive, 88.34 crore vaccine doses have been administered to date.
