Air India Express seeks UAE nod to fly people on India-Dubai sector of Vande Bharat flights
The Dubai government has allowed foreign nationals holding residency visas issued in Dubai to return to the emirate starting Monday (June 22), and will open its doors to tourists from July 7. A large number of Indians working in UAE are currently in India and are keen to retun to their jobs and homes in Dubai. An Air India Express spokesman said the airline has “not yet received approval from UAE authorities to carry passengers on our VBM flights, although we have requested for it.”

Law Ministry tweaks rule to allow use of postal ballot for those suffering from Covid, reports PTI.
Voters in Bihar who test positive for COVID-19 will be allowed to cast their vote using postal ballot in the state assembly polls due later this year. The Legislative Department in the Union law ministry has changed the Conduct of Election Rules to allow those suffering from Covid-19 to use postal ballot, a top ministry functionary said on Tuesday.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is on Tuesday set to announce July 4 as the date for a significant lifting of lockdown restrictions in the country, with cinemas, museums, bars, pubs and restaurants being allowed to open their doors to the public once again. The Cabinet will meet on Tuesday to officially rubber-stamp the decision to allow public venues, including theatres and businesses such as hairdressers, to reopen from July 4, effectively marking an end to the lockdown in what some British MPs have dubbed “Super Saturday”.

UP opposition leader tests positive for coronavirus, reports PTI.
Leader of Opposition in the UP assembly and Samajwadi Party leader, Ram Govind Chaudhary, has tested positive for coronavirus, an official said on Tuesday. Chaudhary was suffering from fever and cold and was admitted to a private hospital in Lucknow on Monday where his sample was taken for testing, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Anand Prakash Joshi, said.

Alleged IS operative claims developing Covid-19 symptoms, seeks treatment in Tihar, reports PTI.
A man, arrested for allegedly conspiring to commit terror activities and further the ISIS ideology in the country, on Tuesday moved a Delhi court seeking proper medical treatment, claiming that he has developed symptoms of Covid-19. The application on behalf of Asif Ali submitted that 18 jail inmates have developed symptoms like cough, cold and fever.

Haryana to fix cost of Covid-19 treatment in private hospitals, says health minister Anil Vij.
"For private hospitals, we are going to fix the rates. I have discussed this with my officials and orders will be issued soon," Vij told PTI.He said that the government would fix charges of isolation beds in private hospitals, ICU beds without ventilator, ICU beds with ventilator, and medicines to be administered. Vij said that while treatment is free in government facilities in the state, the government wants to make sure that treatment is affordable even for those who opt for private hospitals.
