Coronavirus live updates: Jharkhand cancels Class 10, 12 state board exams

India has reported 94,052 daily new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country's tally to 2,91,83,121. With 6,148 deaths, India's death toll from the virus stands at 3,59,676. US extends expiration dates for J&J COVID vaccine by 6 weeks

Johnson & Johnson said Thursday that US regulators extended the expiration date on millions of doses of its Covid-19 vaccine by six weeks. The company said a Food and Drug Administration review concluded the shots remain safe and effective for at least 4 1/2 months. In February, the FDA originally authorised J&J's vaccine for up to three months when stored at normal refrigeration levels.

A consortium of four city clusters — Bengaluru, Hyderabad, New Delhi, and Pune — has been established to upscale SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus genomic surveillance, complementing national efforts led by the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomic Consortia (INSACOG).Established with support and seed funding from Rockefeller Foundation, the new effort will track the emergence of viral variants correlated to epidemiological dynamics and clinical outcomes.
