The first ever report on NE states was made by KVK Sundaram in the fifties. The Congress govt.kept that report in the shelves all these years because the suggestions were aimed to ensure that no foreign religious outfits enter these states for conversion of people on inducement, brain washing etc. The report also suggested improvements infrastructure,,road and rail connectivity etc. from strategic perspective. The successive Govts never bothered even to read the report. 1962 China war reinforced the recommendations of the report. Still the babus and political bigwigs did not consider the recommendations as these states contribute very little by way of support in LS and RS. it is now left to the present Govt. to set things right . But people want results in 3 years!Read allPost comment
