SRINAGAR: Senior People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig has asserted that the ruling alliance between the Congress and PDP in Jammu and Kashmir was "irrevocable". PDP-Congress alliance is irrevocable and it will not break, Baig told AIR's Srinagar station in an interview broadcast last night. The assertion of Baig ended speculations here that the PDP-Congress alliance was at the brink of breaking.
Baig said the Congress High Command was also in favour of further cementing the alliance between the two parties. Talks between the two parties on all matters have almost been completed. The only issue which remains to be discussed is whether these parties will contest the next assembly polls together or separately, he said. Replying to a question, Baig said indiscipline in the administration would not be tolerated and warned officials not to sleep over cabinet decisions.
