Congress MP claims BJP neta was drunk during Rahul Gandhi's speech
NEW DELHI: Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat alleged that a senior BJP member had come to Lok Sabha "drunk" when he tried to disturb Rahul Gandhi's speech during the debate on 'electoral reforms'.
Escalating the row triggered by BJP's Anurag Thakur's accusation that a TMC MP was "vaping" in the House Thursday, Bhagat said, "This senior BJP member's video during the proceedings can be checked for his repeated gestures, the way he was tottering, when Rahul Gandhi was giving the speech. It is obvious, and I know for a fact, he was inebriated during proceedings. This is a serious matter, and BJP should ensure it doesn't happen again." While Bhagat didn't name the MP he was referring to, it was said to be about a minister who made himself conspicuous with his actions during LoP's speech.

The Jharkhand MP told reporters it was crucial for parliamentarians to ensure decorum in Lok Sabha. "It should not become a partisan issue with concerns about etiquette only being raised with regard to the opposition," he remarked.
He said while he was wondering what to do about the shocking development he witnessed, he was encouraged to speak out after Speaker Om Birla Thursday made his observations about the "vaping" issue and urged members to ensure decorum in the chamber.

If the BJP MP was really in intoxicated condition, what prevented the opposition members to lodge complaints with the concerned authorities? If necessary all the MPs must be made to undergo necessary tests to ascertain nature of their private habits with intoxicants.Read allPost comment
