NEW DELHI: Congress defeated the BJP to retain both the assembly seats of Delhi for which bypolls were conducted on October 13.

NEW DELHI: Congress retained both the assembly seats of Delhi for which bypolls were conducted on October 13.
Congress'' Rajesh Lilothia defeated his nearest rival Raj Mehra of the BJP to claim the Baljit Nagar constituency.
Lilothia bagged 21,480 votes as against Mehra''s 14,768.
The constituency was earlier represented by Krishna Tirath who was elected as Member of Parliament.

In Rajouri Garden constituency Congress'' Ramesh Lamba defeated BJP''s Ramesh Khanna. Lamba, who bagged 19,193 votes, won by a margin of 3,649.
The Constituency was earlier represented by Ajay Maken who vacated the seat after being elected to the Parliament.
