NEW DELHI: The government announced Wednesday the visit by PM Narendra Modi to Germany for the G7 summit, where he's expected to address issues like climate, energy and food security against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine. He is also expected to have several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the G7.

On his way back, Modi will stop over in UAE to pay his personal condolences on the passing away of the former UAE president and Abu Dhabi ruler.

According to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who invited Modi for the summit, G7 leaders are expected to discuss the outlines of a Marshall Plan for rebuilding Ukraine. According to the government, the invitation by Germany is in keeping with the tradition of a strong and close partnership between India and Germany.
