Raipur: Agniveers of Chhattisgarh will be integrated into police force, forest department and jail staff on priority basis after they return from service in Indian Army, announced chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas on Friday.

Chief minister said that the Agniveers will be recruited on priority basis as constables and jail wardens in police department and as forest guards in forest department.

Sai said that necessary guidelines will soon be issued by our government in regards with the announcement and providing a reservation in their recruitment.

“The youths who joined the army under Agniveer scheme would directly benefit from this initiative,” CM said.

Similar decisions were taken in other states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

As per the rules of the Agniveer scheme, 25% jawans after four years of training and duty, will be retained based on their efficiency while the services of remaining soldiers will be terminated.

Hence, the states are providing preferred recruitment in services such as police and fore department so that they can continue working.
