chennai: haryana chief minister om prakash chautala has supported tamil nadu chief minister j jayalalithaa on her stand against the centre's decision to transfer three ips officers to delhi. in a letter to jayalalithaa, a copy of which was released to the press, chautala said the issue had serious implications on the centre-state relations and the future of all-india services.
he said keeping in view the importance of the matter, it would be worthwhile to raise the issue in the meeting of national development council. chauthala's letter to jayalalithaa comes close on the heels of chattisgarh chief minister ajit jogi writing a similar letter to her a few days back supporting her stand on the issue. jayalalithaa had recently requested all the chief ministers to give their views on the centre's request to tamil nadu government seeking the services of city police commissioner k muthukarruppan, joint police commissioner v george and deputy commissioner christopher nelson, who were involved in the arrest of dmk chief karunanidhi here on june 30.
