NEW DELHI: Former MLA Janardan Paswan of the LJP-Ramvilas won Chatra assembly constituency with 1,09,019 votes on Saturday. Paswan beat Rashtriya Janata Party (RJD)'s Rashmi Prakash, daughter-in-law of outgoing MLA Satyanand Bhogta, by a margin of 18,401 votes.

The counting of votes took place at Chatra College. Eighteen tables were used for counting votes from Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and 14 tables for postal ballots in the constituency. The counting process consisted of 27 rounds in Chatra with eleven candidates in fray.
