PM Modi Bangalore Visit Live Updates:Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bengaluru today to meet and congratulate the scientists of the Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO). After arriving at the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) airport, Modi while addressing thousands of people gathered to welcome him, said that not only in India, but every individual in the world who believes in science and the future is celebrating the success of Chandrayaan-3 mission with the same spirit. A row erupted between the BJP and Congress on Saturday following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement in Bengaluru that Chandrayaan-3's landing spot on the Moon would be named 'Shiv Shakti point' and the crash site of Chandrrayaan-2 would be named 'Tiranga point'. "There is a scientific tradition of naming the location of a touchdown. India has decided to name the lunar region where our Chandrayaan-3 landed. The place where Vikram lander descended will be known as Shiv Shakti point," PM Modi said.

PM Narendra Modi, who rushed to the mission control centre of Isro in Bengaluru on Saturday morning soon after returning from the Brics summit in Johannesburg, hugged Isro chairman S Somanath, personally congratulated all directors attached to the Chandrayaan-3 mission, greeted and thanked women scientists for their efforts and saluted all space scientists for “taking India to the Moon”.

Work of G20 culture ministers holds immense significance for entire humanity: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said culture has an inherent potential to unite, while asserting that the work of G20 culture ministers holds immense significance for entire humanity.
In a recorded video message to the delegates attending the G20 Culture Ministers' Meeting here, the prime minister said Varanasi is a treasure chest of spirituality, knowledge and truth.
"Culture has the inherent potential to unite... your work holds immense significance for entire humanity," Modi told the gathering of G20 ministers..
He also said that the prime ministers' museum in Delhi "showcases India's democratic heritage".

Chandrayaan-3 project cost at Rs 600 cr lower than budgets of some Hollywood films on space, says Union minister
Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Friday said the estimated cost of the Chandrayaan-3 project at Rs 600 crore was lower than the budget of some Hollywood films made on the themes of space and moon. He also said scientific research connected with the project to check availability of hydrogen and oxygen on the surface of the moon is what makes the country's initiative "quite different" from lunar missions of other nations.

President Droupadi Murmu on Friday said new information obtained from the moon through Chandrayaan-3 would benefit the whole world. Addressing an event here, the president hailed "the unprecedented success of the scientists of India" which has made India the first country to reach the South Pole of the moon. "She expressed confidence that through the Chandrayaan-3 mission new information would be obtained from the lunar land which would benefit the whole world," a statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan quoted her as having said.

Haryana Assembly hails successful landing of Chandrayaan-3
The Haryana Assembly on Friday passed a resolution, hailing the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon's surface. On the opening day of the session here, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar moved the resolution in the House. In a giant leap for India's space mission, Chandrayaan-3 touched down on the lunar south pole at 6.04 pm on Wednesday, propelling the country to an exclusive club of four and making it the first country to land on the moon's uncharted surface. Khattar also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this historic achievement. While supporting the resolution, Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda said this feat was not achieved in just five or seven years of hard work .
