Chandivali election result 2024: Shiv Sena's Dilip Bhausaheb Lande wins with over 1.24 lakh votes

NEW DELHI: Shiv Sena's Dilip Bhausaheb Lande won in Maharashtra's Chandivali assembly constituency. His main opponents were Khan Mohd. Arif (Naseem), Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Mahendra Manji Bhanushali, and others.

Electoral Commission data shows Dilip Bhausaheb Lande received 69,950 votes, leading ahead of Bhanushali and Arif who secured 4,245 and 44,808 votes respectively after 14 round of voting.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the BJP-led NDA formed the government. However, divisions within the Shiv Sena led Uddhav Thackeray to align with the NCP and Congress, forming the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, with Uddhav as chief minister.

In 2022, Eknath Shinde split from Thackeray's faction, partnered with the BJP, and assumed the role of chief minister, causing the MVA government to collapse. In 2023, Ajit Pawar broke from the NCP and joined Shinde’s alliance with the BJP. Maharashtra politics now revolves around two main alliances: the MVA (Shiv Sena UBT, NCP SP, Congress) and the Maha Yuti (BJP, Shinde’s Sena, Ajit Pawar’s NCP).

Lande's party maintains an alliance with the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition. The ruling Mahayuti alliance demonstrated strong performance in the 2024 elections.

Maharashtra elections were held in a single phase on November 20 with the results handing a landslide victory to the Mahayuti alliance.
