'Champions': PM Modi congratulates Indian cricket team on winning T20 World Cup against South Africa

NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian cricket team after the men in blue lifted the T20 world cup on Saturday.

"CHAMPIONS! Our team brings the T20 World Cup home in STYLE! We are proud of the Indian Cricket Team. This match was HISTORIC", he said in a post on X.


In a video message, PM Modi said expressed that over 140 crore Indians are filled with pride over the cricketers' performance, highlighting that they not only won the trophy on the field but also captured the hearts of millions across villages and streets.

Highlighting that India did not lose a single match, PM Modi underscored the significant achievement in a tournament with participation from numerous countries.
