NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against an IPS officer and eight others, including three policemen, who were allegedly involved in dealings with stamp scam kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi.
CBI sources said the chargesheet, which was filed before a sessions court in Hyderabad, names K Narasimha Rao (IPS) as one of the key accused.
Raowas the DCP (crime), Hyderabad, at the time when the offence took place. The three other cops named are: DSP T Satyanarayan Reddy, inspector Mohammad Asfaq Ahmad Khan and sub-inspector C Madhu Mohan.
According to the chargesheet, the officials had allegedly helped the agencies run by Telgi''s associates to supply fake stamp papers and securities to various insurance companies and banks.
