JAIPUR: Tragedy struck in
Rajasthan's Dausa district on Sunday when a state transport bus collided head-on with a tempo and ran over several pedestrians, resulting in the deaths of five people, including an infant, and leaving at least six others injured.
Police reported that two passengers in the tempo lost their lives, while three pedestrians died on the spot.
The fatal accident took place on the Mahwa-Hindaun Highway, as passengers were returning from Kaila Devi temple in Karauli to Mahwa in the tempo. The pedestrians were participating in a religious rally when the bus struck them.
The bus driver reportedly fled the scene after the incident, prompting the police to register a complaint against him and launch a search operation.
