GUWAHATI: The banned United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) has fired pot shots at bureaucrats in Assam, labelling them as ‘‘enemy no one’’ and holding them responsible for ‘‘all miseries and pain of the people’’.
In an editorial in its latest newsletter, Freedom, the Ulfa said, ‘‘...all resentment of the people developed from the dump of pain and misery should be zeroed in at these packs of Indian authoritative agents.’’
Charging that the bureaucracy was ‘‘the immediate powerhouse of occupation that is responsible for crafting, manoeuvring and executing the long and short-term policy of occupation India,’’ the banned militant group accused it of being ‘‘imported directly from India to rule the occupied territories’’.

‘‘If we minutely observe all the eco-social erosion of our society since the time of Indian occupation, it is realised that these pack of bureaucrats working on behalf of occupation India are the father of all miseries and pain of the people,’’ the rebel outfit added.

According to the Ulfa, the bureaucrats made Assam ‘‘a home of sub-continental illegal economic migrants,’’ perpetuating a ‘‘cunning policy for the looting of wanton natural resources of Assam’’ and acting as ‘‘playmakers of dividing the society of Assam in the name of so-called Indian democracy,’’ besides being ‘‘the designers of the blueprint of turning Assam to a killing field.’’
The editorial in the Freedom - e-mailed to this newspaper - highlighted ‘‘examples’’ of the ‘‘hoodwink(ing) activities of these agents of occupation India.’’
